I’m just back from a week in North Carolina and I’ve got a number of things to attend to that don’t involve beer (actually) as well as finishing my phirx On the Road series from the trip and getting something into my fermenters (yesterday I brewed a Sorachi Ace Saison and today an IPA) – but – today is the first day of Nashville Craft Beer Week 2014. I’d be remiss if I didn’t post at least an announcement here. We can’t have that.
There is so much going on that there is no chance that I can even consider covering it. It’s not an event, it’s 80+ events from June 23 – 29, all over town and at points nearby as well (Williamson County and Murfreesboro even). It seems just about every brewery in town is involved, and many restaurants, bars, taprooms, city blocks, even the Belcourt. Check out the official schedule here. And of course there is little to stop you from celebrating Nashville craft beer in the privacy of your own home, for that matter, unless you don’t have any on hand (maybe it’s time to get your growlers filled!) ~
Highlights include numerous tap takeovers and some visits from out-of-town breweries including New Belgium, Highland, Straight-to-Ale, RJ Rockers, and more. Several of Nashville’s own have concocted special brews just for this week.
This week’s Nashville Scene has a nice cover story by Steve Cavendish about Craft Beer Week that includes the folks at Fat Bottom, Jackalope, and Black Abbey here. And while I’m making announcements, this year’s Music City Brewer’s Festival is less than a month away – July 19 – get your tickets here.
